Anton Cox, Researcher 2 at NPC Research, has worked in program evaluation for over six years, focusing primarily on drug court evaluations. His experience includes creating databases for internal and external use, as well as collecting, managing, cleaning, and analyzing large administrative datasets.
Mr. Cox has worked on drug court evaluations for sites in California, Oregon, Maryland, Michigan, Indiana, and Vermont, including a cost and impact evaluation of the approximately 10,000 people who were eligible for the Multnomah County (Portland, Oregon) Drug Court program from 1991 through 2002. In addition, he has created databases for several programs so that they can track their own data and has created databases for NPC data collection efforts. Further, Mr. Cox assists with data cleaning for Juvenile Crime Prevention reports. He has used his strong technology skills and experience with several data management platforms to coax useful information from otherwise cantankerous data.
Mr. Cox started developing his database and software skills in the early 1990s and began evaluating drug courts while working as a research assistant at Oregon Health & Science University. His software expertise includes Access, Excel, SAS, and SPSS. Mr. Cox earned his Bachelor of Arts in Art from Portland State University, with an emphasis in oil painting (and hasn't done a damn thing with it).
